Incredible ancient site of Rome. A door where Via Ostiense started/arrived, depending upon your point of view next to the Roman pyramid, which is likely to be built in between the 18-10th century B.C. when Egyptian culture and customs were on fashion. From Porta San Paolo you can start the visit to Ostiense neighbourhood and have a close look at its murals. It's a hidden underrated district which can reserves a lot of surprises to tourists!

Very beautiful! History is here... Constructed around 530, the Porta San Paolo (English: Saint Paul Gate) is one of the southern gates in the 3rd-century Aurelian Walls of Rome, Italy. The Via Ostiense Museum (museo della Via Ostiense) is housed within the gatehouse.[1] It is in the Ostiense quarter; just to the west is the Roman Pyramid of Cestius, an Egyptian-style pyramid, and beyond that is the Protestan

It's free to the public, and if you go through to the top, there is a nice view of the pyramid across the street. There were some random items in this small museum that were interesting, but we mostly used it for the view on the roof.

Wow - the pyramid together with this monument is an incredible revelation to me. I did not believe that there might be something like this in Rome. If you want to have nice photos of this mess, I definitely recommend it either in the morning or in the evening. It's a nice walk from the spa.
